I entered in the price… a little ashamed of how low it was, but nothing else was working.

*sigh…

Publish listing, pay the $.20 listing fee, click and done.

Now I sit back and wait.

And wait…

and wait…

and keep waiting.

After weeks and weeks the listing never sold.

I’ve published over 1,000 listings on my shop, and the sad ugly truth is that most of the listings I published felt like that.

I’d spend hours creating a great product, bust my butt taking good pictures, and spend lots of time to create the listing.

There were times I cried in frustration over the amount of time I wasted doing this, but I didn’t know what else to do.

I started to read books about sales and marketing, I snooped other Etsy shops and determined to myself that I was going to find a way to be successful on Etsy.

One of the best books I read about marketing was written by Dan Kennedy.

I was so pumped and inspired, taking notes, nodding my head enthusiastically with each turn of the page.

I sat back down at my desk and poured my heart into my Etsy listings, tweaking this, changing that, adjusting the prices etc, etc.

I even uploaded a bunch of listings that I had left unlisted because I didn’t want to upload more failures.

Then I sat back and waited… praying that my heart wouldn’t be crushed all over again with more defeat.

It didn’t.

The sales started to come in.

They really did, I could hardly believe it!

A wave of relief came over me and I was finally able to relax.

Our listings views turned into sales which turned into raving 5 star reviews.

I decided to write down my exact formula for creating a successful listing to make sure I would never forget it.

Then I took the formula and gave it to my friends and sister who were also Etsy sellers.

Now their Etsy shops were a little more successful than mine was out of the gate so they were a little skeptical that they needed it at all, but they decided to give it a try anyways.

I was worried.

Whew! Another sigh of relief.
